As we introduce another popular drone under $50, the DROCON Falcon GD90-C makes into the list. Today we are featuring the DROCON Falcon GD90-C as one of the top drones with HD camera to choose from for beginners. Like every shoppers, you want to be sure you are picking the drone that suits your needs such as: is it easy to fly, is it durable and is it crafted with quality. Let’s give you a short brief about who DROCON is.

The DROCON is an US-based company that crafts high-grade drones using durable materials unlike their counterparts in China. One of the main reason why their drones are so popular is because majority of these products are built to be easy to fly and with beginners in mind. That being said, the DROCON Falcon GD90-C drone is a no exception.

However, before we jump into the review. We want to let you know there are completely two different versions. The first version which is DROCON Falcon GD90-A without camera and the second one with a 720p HD camera. Thus, giving you the option between drone with a camera or without. Read more to find out if this drone is made for you.

Camera Quality

The DROCON Falcon GD90-C is equipped with a powerful 2 million pixels (2MP) camera that is capable of recording and capturing stills on pristine 720p HD. It also comes with upgrade electronic image stabilization that ensure clear images. Only thing you have to do is practice few times before you can masterfully capture beautiful aerial shots with a push of button.

While the DROCON Falcon GD90-C doesn’t comes with a memory card slot, the videos and stills are stored on your smartphone. Thus, making it super easy to share with your family, friends and even on social media.

Furthermore, the camera is adjustable. It can be rotated downward up to 90-degree allowing for some really cool straight down aerial shots. The only drawback to this is that the camera can be adjusted manually. As of there are no controls that lets you adjust remotely. Which is a bit of disappointment.

But at this price tag, it is quite reasonable because other three popular drones: X12 Drone (See Price), IN 1802 Drone (See Price) and Guard FQ36 (See Price) does the same thing. This feature shouldn’t prevent you from enjoying it to the fullest.

Design and Appearance

Our first impression was how unique and different the design of DROCON Falcon GD90-C is. From the front point of perspective, it certainly does look like a falcon which is really nifty! The material that is used to craft the Falcon GD90-C is made of durable ABS plastic. It gives the bird extra layer of protection as well improved resilience against hard crashes and the like. Furthermore, the propeller guards provides beginners the opportunity to fly more and worry less about damaging the drone. The guards act as layer of protection to absorb shock.

On the front. it has two white LED lights that gives it an interesting facial appearance. But it is not all just about how well the drone is designed. The remote controller appears to take on a similar level aiming on popular drones like the Parrot Bebop 2 (See Price). With a miniature, curved and professional appearance transmitter, you can fly around knowing that you will impress bystanders with high quality drone.

Performance and Features

Do not underestimate the power of DROCON Falcon GD90-C performance and features. As small as it sounds, its name Falcon gives it a clear impression of being agility and nimble. Fortunately, its performance held true to its name. Featuring speed mode that has a gradual learning curve, beginners can start learning how to fly a drone. As they train, their piloting skill will grow, develop and become an expert remote pilot. It is an excellent training drone to have before you plan to move on to more expensive drones such as Mavic Air (See Price) and DJI Spark (See Price).

Thanks to important beginner-friendly features, the headless mode and altitude hold function ensures a smooth and stable flight controls. The altitude hold function allows the drone to maintain a steady height level by detecting changes in the air pressure and adjusts automatically. Secondly, the headless mode is an indispensable tool to have for beginners. This feature switches the control orientation from drone to the levers movement.

Of course, the remote controller comes with a simple return to home button. Pushing the button will tell the drone to fly straight back to its home point. But do so with caution and make sure there is no objects in its flight path.

Conclusion of DROCON Falcon GD90-C

Overall, we felt this drone is well crafted that is geared toward beginners. It certainly doesn’t incorporate many advanced features that you normally will see on high-end models. But the remote controller are very simple and easy to understand. Moreover, the drone is built for durability that will last a long time. On top of that, it has an impressive wind resistance that makes it an excellent choice for those who wants to be able to fly it outside. In the end, I think it is a great quality that is meant for an excellent replay value and to keep you company for a good amount of time.

This is the first drone I’ve ever owned. It took me a while to get it stable, as you said, but I’m still not sure on where the cord for the battery connection should go. It doesn’t appear to have a designated place for it. Either way, I’m still enjoying it and appreciate your website.

    + PROS: Durable
    - CONS: Maybe not for true beginners.

    • Hello, thank you for your feedback!

Regarding the battery should have cord which looks like two little sliver needles that you connect to the USB charger. You probably will have to tweak it around to get the cord out of the drone so that you can connect the battery to the charger.
